AT&T has named industry veteran Jennifer Van Buskirk as its Regional President for At&t Northeast which includes New Jersey with its headquarters in Bedminster.
In this new role, Van Buskirk will drive sales growth and oversee operations for AT&T’s mobility and entertainment businesses. She joins a leading sales organization spanning fourteen states and the District of Columbia with more than 3,700 points of distribution, including company owned retail stores, national and authorized retailers.
Through a press release, Glenn Lurie who is the President and CEO of AT&T Mobility welcomed her to the company. Lurie said they could not have made a better choice than Van Buskirk. “Jennifer is a proven leader who embraces change and energizes people to stay motivated and engaged to create new opportunities and an excellent customer experience for AT&T’s mobility and entertainment businesses.”
On her part, Van Buskirk said she is honored with the new appointment and is ready to get down to work. “I’m excited to join this team of world-class employees who provide millions of customers an exceptional wireless experience every day. I look forward to serving our northeast region customers as our business continues to evolve.”
Before joining AT&T Northeast region, Van Buskirk served as president of Cricket Wireless, a premium pre-paid carrier owned by AT&T. She is credited with building AT&T’s premium pre-paid wireless business from the ground up, including managing the integration and brand transition of Cricket after AT&T’s acquisition of Leap Wireless in 2014.
Van Buskirk replaces Steven J. Hodges, who has been named Senior Vice President – Customer Experience for AT&T. Hodges, who has extensive front line retail expertise and a passion for serving customers, will bring that experience to bear for customers across the country. Many people regard her as the female technology leader after she was recently inducted into the 2015 Womenetics POW! Hall of Fame.
