Janet Uthman has been appointed the Vice President of Inclusion and Multicultural Marketing for Comcast’s Northeast Division.
The new role puts her directly responsible for the planning and execution of diversity and inclusion efforts. She will also implement the company’s multicultural marketing strategy across the Division’s footprint which consists of approximately 22,000 employees and 7.5 million customers.
That covers a total of 14 northeastern states from Maine to Virginia and Washington, D.C. Uthman will report directly to the Human Resources and Marketing departments and will be looked upon to help make Comcast the best-in-class model for diversity and inclusion within the industry.
Additionally, she will spearhead marketing efforts to increase awareness and adoption among diverse multicultural consumers and niche lifestyle segments. Kerri St. Jean, the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Comcast’s Northeast Division welcomed the appointment saying Uthman is a positive addition.
“Janet has always blended her Comcast role with a strong commitment to volunteerism with diverse community organizations and professional networks,” Jean said in a press statement. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new position, and we’re thrilled that she will be part of our team.” Randy Waddell, the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Comcast’s Northeast Division was also in full praise of Uthman saying her proven skills and experience will be very vital to realizing their goals.
“Janet’s leadership skills combined with her proven track record of creative and effective marketing strategies and execution will make her a huge asset in our multicultural marketing efforts. She will play a critical role in helping us reach and relate to these important audiences.” Uthman has 18 years of experience in marketing leadership having been the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Comcast’s Western New England Region.
Also, she was the Director of Product Management for Comcast’s Western New England Region and Marketing and Sales Director for Baltimore City.
